Matt and I recently embarked on our first ever jungle trek in Northern Thailand, a few hours outside of Chiang Mai. It was an incredibly challenging and amazing trip that really pushed me to my limits and showed me a totally different side of Thailand I had never experienced before. When it came time to pack for the trip, I had a rough idea of what I needed and thought I’d covered all bases but, when we got started, I realised there were quite a few things I needed and others I really didn’t need to pack at all. If you’re planning your own adventure here are my tips on what to pack for a jungle trek or hiking trip in Thailand. On our three day Ban Jabo Hilltribe Trek in Northern Thailand, we had to carry our backpacks with all our gear in them the whole time. If you need to do the same for your trek or hike I’d strongly recommend you pack as light as absolutely possible. This list is quite extensive but I made sure to pack the minimum and share things between Matt and me, so we weren’t both carrying a towel, soap and chargers – [...]

Matt prefers to wear sweat-wicking t-shirts as they keep him dry and cool, especially if we’re out doing activities. I like to wear t-shirts or singlet/vest tops. You might like to pack things that are strappy, loose fitting [...]

Exploring the stunning scenery of Canada has been a dream holiday for Matt and me for a very long time and this year, we finally got to do it! When I started packing, I assumed all I’d need would be shorts, skirts and t-shirts because, well, it was summer! At the last minute, I took a proper look at the weather forecast and quickly realised I had to start again as the temperature in the mountains would be dropping as low as 2 degrees Celsius. After spending nearly 4 weeks camping through western Canada, I got a really good idea of what to pack and what to skip. I’ve been lucky enough to visit Vietnam a few times and it remains one of my favourite destinations in South-East Asia. It has a distinctly peaceful vibe to it, a relaxing atmosphere that should feel strange given the constant buzzing of scooters and local chatter on the streets. All the same, it’s incredibly peaceful and […]

Instead of needing shirts and shorts, we actually needed beanies, […]
